ALTHOUGH Gegar Vaganza Season 8 (GV8) closed its curtain at the end of January, the friendship established among the participants of the reality show is still close and intact to this day.

The proof is they have joined forces and spent their own pocket money to produce a new recording of the song 'Suasana Di Hari Raya', an original song by Anuar and Ellina, which was sung en masse.

Naming the new version of the song 'Suasana Di Hari Raya Famili Kita', the song published by Oja features all GV8 participants, namely Adibah Noor, Shidee, Ani Maiyuni, Azan Scan, Bandi Amuk, Datuk Fazley Yaakob, Aliff Aziz, Aweera, Nikki Palikat, Suki Low, Upiak Usil, Nico G and Sa.Ya who are members of Saiful Apek and Yassin.

The director of the 'Suasana Di Hari Raya Famili Kita' project, Fuad Shahrin, said that this hymn project was actually triggered by Ani Maiyuni in a Whatsapp group conversation with other GV8 artist friends.

"Instead of empty conversations between them, they were serious about producing a hymn that involved all of them.

“In fact, they spent their own money to fund this hymn recording project. They also asked me to be the project director.

“So I managed everything, including creating a YouTube channel called Famili Kita. The choice of the name 'Famili Kita' was made because it was their choice,” he added.

According to Fuad, Astro is already aware of the existence of the GV8 artists' hymn.

“They have no problem because the production of this song does not involve any Astro brand or the GV8 program itself.

“That is one of the reasons why they chose to use the name Famili Kita. God willing after this, we will continue with other projects under the Famili Kita brand.

“One of the projects we are thinking about is to hold their reunion concert. I believe it will be an attraction because they each have their own fans,” he said.

Meanwhile, Oja said that he considered the trust given by his fellow artists who had participated in GV8 as an honour.

“I myself do not know why I was chosen as the producer and I also do not know why they chose to re-record the song 'Suasana Riang Di Hari Raya'.

“Producing a new recording of the song 'Suasana Riang Di Hari Raya' is not that difficult. Yet the difficulty is to arrange each of their parts with their respective genres.

“But, I tried to make and I think they were quite happy with the result and I was not surprised if this song could 'go' and be a hit.

“The reason is that the project they are trying to produce is quite unique. Coupled with a music video that has an element of drama. It's quite entertaining," said Oja.

Representing Famili Kita artists, Datuk Fazley Yaakob said, although each of them was quite busy with work demands and some lived elsewhere, they still took the time to realise this project.

“Every artist involved has a task that has been entrusted to them and each of them strives to give their best to ensure the success of this project.

"I hope after this our friendship will continue and we can also continue other projects under Famili Kita," he said.

Fazley also explained that the intimacy between them already started since the beginning of their involvement in GV8.

“There was no jealousy or dissatisfaction with each other when we were at GV8. There is nothing at all and that is the specialty of the GV8 batch,” he added.

The song, which lasts more than 4 minutes, was filmed at a homestay with an eco-tourism concept located in Hulu Langat, Selangor.

All 16 artists gathered to prepare a music video that has a variety of funny situations that are sure to touch the hearts of the audience.
