1. Gatal Raya – Janna Nick

Having sparked a bit of controversy through the original song entitled 'Gatal', Janna Nick returned with a special version of the work entitled 'Gatal Raya'.

Still maintaining the same rhythm and lyrics created by Aepul Roza, 'Gatal Raya' turned out to be an entertaining work thanks to the rearrangement of music that suits the Aidilfitri atmosphere.

It was a clever idea to re-mix the original song, which was indeed naughty, into a Raya song, as the rhythm is very catchy and has an easy-to-remember hook. No surprise if this song will also be contagious like the original song on social media during Aidilfitri.

2. Raya Kita Raya – Rocketfuel Entertainment artists

This festive song is very entertaining to me. It has all the elements needed to produce a good Aidilfitri themed song.

Featuring a simple chorus and a lively vocal combination, this song created by Amy Bong and Haqfie with lyrics by Amy Bong, Lan Todak and Mat Semat has the potential to be a song that will be remembered and played many times over.

Amplified by the voices of great singers like Hady Mirza, Syamel, Ara Johari, Yuka Kharisma and many more, this song deserves to be included in your list of favourite Raya songs for this year.

3. Seikhlas Hati – SOG x Shila Amzah

Still fresh from their big win at the recent Anugerah Juara Lagu, SOG and Shila Amzah have now come up with their festive song. Daring to present something unique, this song brings the pop-rock beat created by Raja Nazmin Shah with a touch of lyrics by Shila Amzah.

Honestly, it sounds more like a pop song than a Raya song because the arrangement of the music is quite grand and a little dominant compared to the Aidilfitri message conveyed in the lyrics of the song. However, it will probably attract the attention and interest of those who like songs of such genres, especially rock songs.

4. Patah – Fuad Rahman

For a piece from Singapore this week, we present a pop-rock ballad by Fuad Rahman. The song titled 'Patah' is the creation of Yazri Malik with lyrics by Yazri, along with Kiambang Mas and Fuad Rahman.

Although Fuad has a good voice for me, this song will face a bit of a challenge to compete because of its rhythm style which is quite like many other Malay pop songs that are already on the market.

But, it is a good attempt because it allows Fuad to unleash his vocal prowess for music fans of this genre. Hopefully, Fuad's work after this will be better and more progressive, in line with his vocal strength.

5. Riang Raya 2022 – Andie Othman

From Brunei Darussalam this week, we feature a lively and no less entertaining tune. Andie Othman's song is titled 'Riang Raya 2022' and is the sole creation of Hans Anuar. Although the song uses relatively modern musical elements it is engrossing and has an unforgettable hook.

The chorus that is repeated many times will also easily stick in the minds of those who love to sing. The arrangement of the music is also simple and not excessive. Besides that Andie seems to already know what genre is right for his voice and here he is playing to that advantage.

Modern and lively rhythms like this are indeed in line with the colour of the vocals and proven, this work can further strengthen its name in the regional music industry if given due exposure. – The Vibes, April 27, 2022
