THIS picture was recorded at Sutra Dance Theatre, Titiwangsa with reporter Amalina Kamal, for an interview with Datuk Ramli Ibrahim on traditional Indian classical dance.

It was taken while the trainees were practicing this dance, after observing the bends and dances, the expression of the dance in the trainee’s eyes.

The difficulty in getting this photo is that the dance moves are swift. And I could feel the constraints of my camera lens, as the trainees dance from the movement in groups and then split up at each corner of the dance hall.

My feelings towards this shot are when each dance trainee moves to traditional music accompanied by bells on their feet. Each dance beat gives an aura where every dance move, their visual expressions, accessories worn during dance practice. I want to witness the full dance with traditional costumes if given the opportunity. – The Vibes, July 17, 2022
