KUALA LUMPUR – The 2022 Malaysian MotoGP marked an important return of international motorsports to the iconic Sepang International Circuit (SIC).
All eyes were on Italy’s Francesco Bagnaia who could have clinched the World Championship in Sepang.
However, he was thwarted due to a stellar ride by title contender and reigning champion Fabio Quartararo in his Yamaha, which led to the title fight head for what is set to be a thrilling final in Valencia, Spain.
Local rider Syarifuddin Azman, or better known as Damok, was also on spectators’ radar, as the rider was confirmed a full seat in next season’s Moto3 championship.
Over 160,000 fans flocked to SIC over the racing weekend to catch their favourite riders hit the track in the sunshine and rain as the monsoon season came knocking.
