PAS wants an end to ‘sexy’ grid girls at MotoGP races

A PAS Member of Parliament has called on the government to stop the practice of having 'sexy' grid girls during MotoGP races at the Sepang International Circuit.

Muhammad Fawwaz Mohamad Jan (PN-Permatang Pauh) said such a practice "contradicted the teachings of Islam."

The Penang PAS information chief claimed that several MotoGP visitors had complained about the matter.

"What I want to address is the issue of the tradition of 'parading' women models in revealing clothing throughout the event," he said.

"This contradicts the teachings of Islam and the Fifth Principle of the Rukun Negara, which emphasises courtesy and morality," he said during his debate on the 2025 Supply Bill for the Youth and Sports Ministry.

Fawwaz said he hoped that the Youth and Sports Ministry would consider his perspective. - November 28, 2024
