PUTRAJAYA – Preparations for the 2023 National Day celebration here are in full swing with the highlight expected to be human formations of the Demi Malaysia, Tekad Perpaduan and Malaysia Madani logos.

A total 1,500 students armed with fans and handkerchiefs will help make this a success. They comprise Form 2, 3 and 4 students, who were selected to represent 47 schools around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

Jumping from a height of 4,000m and then having only seven minutes to open their parachutes before landing in front of the main tent will be six commandos from the Royal Malaysia Police VAT69 team.

On hand to inspect the preparations today was Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

Fahmi, who is also the National Day and Malaysia Day celebration main committee chairman, said everything was going smoothly and the ministry was looking into issues concerning timing to ensure there would be no problems on the day of the event.

“So far, I am satisfied with the preparations. We can see that the main tent has been installed and there are still some other pieces of equipment (that need to be completed). Now we are looking into issues of timing and will make adjustments where necessary because we have tight windows due to flight issues,” he said.

Apart from the Creative Industry and Broadcasting contingent, the parade will also see the participation of other contingents, namely the Nationhood contingent, the Malaysia Madani Unity contingent, the Economy contingent, and the Banking contingent.

Also participating are the Telecommunications contingent; Community contingent; National Sports contingent, as well as National Welfare and Security contingent. – The Vibes, August 26, 2023
