A DISTURBING altercation at a FamilyMart outlet in Kota Damansara has ignited widespread anger across Malaysian social media, after a female staff member was accused of splashing hot oden soup at a Grab rider during what appeared to be a routine order inquiry.

The incident is believed to have taken place at The Cove, Kota Damansara, and has since gone viral on platforms like TikTok and Threads.

Videos circulating online show a tense exchange inside the convenience store. According to the rider involved, he had approached the counter simply to clarify details about an order when the situation suddenly escalated.

In his account, the rider claimed he was speaking to the staff member about the order when she abruptly reacted by throwing hot soup in his direction, leaving him shocked and shaken.

The act, caught on video, quickly drew condemnation from viewers who described the response as excessive and dangerous.

As the clip gained traction, more voices began to emerge — many alleging that the incident was not an isolated one.

Several individuals claiming to be former employees of the same outlet stepped forward, painting a troubling picture of the staff member’s behaviour.

Some said they had resigned due to difficulties working with her, citing repeated instances of hostility and unprofessional conduct.

Others from the public also shared their own unpleasant encounters, alleging that they had been treated rudely or unfairly by the same individual during past visits.

While the authenticity of all these claims remains unverified, the volume of similar accounts has added fuel to the growing backlash.

The incident has also raised broader concerns about workplace conduct, customer service standards, and the treatment of delivery riders — a group many Malaysians increasingly rely on in their daily lives.

It is learnt that FamilyMart has since relieved the staff concerned of duty and is investigating the alleged incident.

For now, the video continues to circulate widely, with many calling for accountability and a thorough investigation into what really happened at the Kota Damansara outlet. – May 28, 2026
