A FOOD delivery rider gave a young boy an unexpected birthday surprise after agreeing to a simple request that turned an ordinary delivery into a special family memory.
The moment was shared by Najiha (@najihahsyazana) on Threads, where she thanked the rider for taking the time to sing “Happy Birthday” to her nephew, Affan.
Najiha said she had ordered food for Affan’s birthday celebration on behalf of his grandmother, who shares the same birthday as him.
Before the delivery arrived, she sent the rider a message asking if he could help sing a birthday song for Affan when handing over the food.
The rider agreed and recorded himself singing the song for Affan before delivering the order.
In the video, Affan could be seen smiling as he listened to the rider’s surprise birthday wish.
Najiha thanked the rider for helping make the celebration more meaningful, while also expressing appreciation to those who sent their birthday wishes to Affan.
She shared that Affan’s birthday holds a special significance for the family as it falls on the same date as his late grandparents’ birthdays.
According to her, Affan was born on 10 August 2017, while his late grandfather Mohammad Nooh bin Ismail was born on 10 August 1963 and his grandmother on 10 August 1965.
Najiha added that this was the second year the family was celebrating Affan’s birthday without his grandfather, who passed away on 12 February 2025.
