IF you did not know this, the iconic Land Rover Defender (pictured below) production came to an end in January 2016 after 67 years in production. The last model rolled off the production line in Solihull, England due to its age and tougher European Union and global emission laws. It was a sad time for Defender enthusiasts.

A new Defender
Then in 2019, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) introduced a brand new Defender which was built at the brand new JLR factory in Nitra, Slovakia. Destined for 128 countries around the world, this new Defender was subjected to more than 62,000 technical tests over one million kilometres from the Arctic to Africa (they missed out Cameron Highlands) before its global unveiling.
Today, the final edition units of the classic Defender 110 selling price in England is from £45,240 (from RM253,000 before local taxes and delivery charges are included) which makes it about 75% less than this Defender Works V8 Trophy.
So, why is this special edition Defender with a V8 engine almost 75% more expensive?
A Defender revival
The Land Rover Classic department is continuing the formidable expedition legacy of the original Defender with a limited production run of adventure-ready Defender Works V8 Trophy vehicles for an exclusive competition at Eastnor Castle in 2021.

Based on the re-engineered 2012-2016 Defender Works V8 specification developed by Land Rover Classic, it is powered by a 405PS, 515Nm 5.0-litre V8 petrol powertrain working with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. Underneath this iconic shape is a comprehensively uprated suspension, steering and braking system. Also, this Trophy edition Defender features a wide range of extra upgrades specifically tailored for off-road use.
How exclusive
Just 25 examples of this Defender Works V8 Trophy are on offer for sale, in a mixture of 90 and 110 Station Wagon body designs. They all will be exclusively finished in a unique Eastnor Yellow paint colour with matching 16-inch steel wheels. Contrasting Narvik Black paintwork features on the wheel arches, bonnet and rear door. The purpose-built vehicles will also receive LED headlamps, a Heritage front grille, unique Land Rover Trophy badging and event participation graphics personalised to each customer who is willing to pay this ridiculous asking price.

Added features
This Land Rover Defender Works V8 Trophy is designed to tackle the most demanding endurance challenges. Additional all-terrain kit includes a front winch, multi-point expedition cage, roof rack, underbody protection, A-bar, raised air intake, LED spotlights and mud-terrain tyres.
Cabin features
Inside, the instantly recognisable 4x4 benefits from full black Windsor leather upholstery with Recaro sports seats, contrast yellow stitching and a bespoke Land Rover Trophy clock face by Elliot Brown. Land Rover Classic's own Classic Infotainment System with integrated navigation and mobile device connectivity is also fitted.
Defender adventure
Later this year, Defender Works V8 Trophy customers will be invited (subject to Covid-19 restrictions) to compete in an exclusive three-day adventure at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire which is the spiritual home of Land Rover all-terrain training, testing and development. This will be the first time these super-rich customers will be able to drive their exclusive Defenders.

How much
Both the 90 and 110 wheelbase Defender Works V8 Trophy derivatives are now available to order directly from Land Rover Classic, with prices starting from £195,000 (about RM1,090,126 before local taxes and delivery charges are included) for this very special and exclusive Defender 90 in England. – The Vibes, February 11, 2021
