AFTER its ‘Raya Melodies’ campaign from April 14 to May 16 this year, shopping centre Fahrenheit88 now presents its P. Ramlee Talent Contest.

Inspired by the songs and talent of the late auteur, the contest promises to uncover new talents at the Grand Final event on June 25 at 3pm.

From April 14, Fahrenheit88 had held a contest on social media to select the best performers. From there, 14 Grand Final contestants will take to the stage to belt out classic hits popularised by P. Ramlee.

Tasked with choosing three winners are judges singer-songwriter Pot Amir (of R&B quartet Innuendo), singer and P. Ramlee’s granddaughter Najua P. Ramlee and Arkib Negara statesman archives director Hanizah Jonoh.

As part of the show, Fahrenheit88 will also host the P. Ramlee Bazaar featuring 20 booths of artisanal merchandise inspired by P. Ramlee and Saloma’s times. There will be local crafts, snacks, clothing, cosmetics, spices and more at Level 2 from tomorrow until Sunday.

The final contestants who will perform in Fahrenheit88 include Cyndi Latreia Yong Sin Sien, Fathil Gazali; Rosniza Ahmad; Mohamad Fahqrul Mohamad Zabandi; Mohd Faizal Umar; Mohd Fozai  Joned; Muhd Nasruddin Shafiie; Nabilah Mohammad; Noorhidayah Halim; Nur Firdaus Arifeen; Che Nurul Hayatul Saqdiah Che Roslan; Suhaimi Ahmad; Tariq Zulkarnain Abdullah Zulkarnain and Mohd Hafdzi Abdul Rashid.
