THE actress Anne Heche is now in stable condition at a Los Angeles area hospital, according to a statement from her representatives. She had previously been hospitalised in critical condition on Friday after being rushed from an accident where she had crashed her car into a home.

“Anne is currently in stable condition,” said the statement. “Her family and friends ask for your thoughts and prayers. We also ask to respect her privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.”

Heche suffered burn injuries when the Mini Cooper she was driving burst into flames, according to multiple reports, including from TMZ, who broke the report

TMZ broke the news with a report that included overhead video of the accident scene. The person inside the home that was hit was not hurt in the incident, which caused significant damage to the front of the property, according to reports.

Heche also reportedly was involved in an accident a few minutes earlier, at a nearby apartment complex. TMZ posted a video that it claimed showed the actress speeding down a street in a blue Mini Cooper.

Outside of a decades long acting career, Heche gained fame in the late 90s as the romantic partner of Ellen DeGeneres in the months after the latter came out as a lesbian, which was a massive story at the time.

Heche was expected to take part in a press tour event next week, promoting the opioid crime drama Girl in Room 13. – The Vibes, August 7, 2022
