THE former first lady will be launching a new podcast titled “Michelle Obama: The Light Podcast” on March 7, according to an announcement by Audible. The podcast is based on her recent celebrity-filled nationwide ‘The Light We Carry’ book tour.
Among the featured guests were Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Tyler Perry, David Letterman and more.
“Though only a few thousand people were able to attend the events live, these remarkable conversations can now be heard by everyone,” Audible said in a news release.
The eight-episode podcast “goes beyond the book as Michelle Obama and her friends share personal stories and insights listeners won’t encounter anywhere else.”
In a statement, Obama said the book tour was a chance to "connect with real people once again" and to expand on the book's reflections on dealing with stress and change. She describes the podcast as "a deeper examination of those fun and meaningful moments."
Obama's book ‘The Light We Carry’ was released on November 15, and her promotional tour began the same night. DeGeneres joined her for the first event in Washington.
The podcast is the first original project in a multiyear agreement between Audible and Higher Ground Productions, which Barack and Michelle Obama founded after leaving the White House.
Several acclaimed documentaries have been produced by the company, including the Oscar-winning film ‘American Factory’.
‘The Light Podcast’ episodes will be available exclusively on Audible for two weeks before being released on other podcast platforms. – The Vibes, February 2, 2023
