MAY comes bearing good tidings for Japanese-French fine dining restaurant Shin’labo by James Won.

Known for its own unique niche leadership in culinary innovation, service and brand presence, Shin’Labo by James Won scored the historic hat-trick win of three prestigious awards at the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards (Hapa) Awards 2023-24 held at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya on May 10.

Awarded with honours from a selection of over 1,000 F&B and hospitality brands across Malaysia, Shin’Labo by James Won scooped the Hapa Special Recognition Culinary Achievement Award (Chef James Won), Hapa Best Restaurant of the Year (Shin'Labo by James Won), and Hapa Best Service Excellence Award (Shin'Labo by James Won).

Declaring the wins to “unstinted team effort”, Chef Patron James Won states: “A great brand is as good as its team. This sets the precedent to work harder at our goals and vision to create cravable F&B brands in Malaysia and overseas.”

Meanwhile, echoing the season’s sentiment with a wish to honour his own grandmother’s influence on his life and culinary journey, James will curate and serve a special lunch menu for mothers on May 13 and 14 at Shin’Labo by James Won.

Inspired by his experiences in Japan, James puts an elegant, delicate and creative spin to the Kikuyu Lunch Menu for Mothers with options of Awabi (Abalone) Signature Don and/or Engawa (Flounder Fin) Signature Don.

Guests accompanying mothers will also experience a special menu, with James himself personally attending to mothers during the lunch service, supported by his team.

The five-course menu with complimentary tea tail mocktail curated by Japan’s award-winning mixology champion, and gift vouchers for mothers aim to create an introductory peek into a transcendental dining experience for first-time audiences and their families.

Kikuyu is available for lunch only and is priced at RM268++ per head. The lunch service is at 11.30am or 1.30pm.
