FOOD influencer/social media star Khairul Aming is a big deal with over 3.4 million followers on TikTok and 3.7 million followers on Instagram. And his latest food video has earned him a new fan in international culinary icon Chef Gordon Ramsay.

In the TikTok video, which has so far received over 1.4 million views, Khairul can be seen flexing his skills putting together a delectable looking burnt sugar steamed pudding – crediting the recipe to Ramsay’s cookbook Uncharted, published by National Geographic.

Ramsay recorded a live reaction to Khairul’s video on his own official TikTok page, where he was ebullient in his praise.

Ramsay starts off with “Hello Malaysia, we love Malaysia”, he then explains the New Zealand origins of the recipe.

The UK cooking legend also joked about Khairul’s “tiny spoon”, before offering some slight criticism as he spotted some lumps in the dough, though he brushed it off as being fine.

“I will be in Malaysia next week. I will show you again. Well done!” Ramsay says as he wraps up his reaction.

One of the top comments on Ramsay’s video is from Muar MP Syed Saddiq, in which he says: “Always making Malaysia proud.”

Earlier today, Khairul posted a reaction to Ramsay’s video, running through his emotions with some laughs, signing off with: "Come to Malaysia, I will make you sambal.” – The Vibes, May 18, 2023
