THE astronomical wonder - originating from asteroid 3200 Phaeton - will be at its peak tonight, before ending early tomorrow morning.
Though it will peak tomorrow morning, it will probably be too bright by then.
The Gemini meteor shower is the most intense of the year. As tonight’s sky will apparently lack much moonlight, it will be the perfect backdrop for the brightness of the meteors.
"It will be the best meteor shower of 2020, no question about it," NASA meteor expert Bill Cooke told Space.com.
The Geminid meteor shower is also expected to have around 140 to 150 visible meteors an hour.
Named after the Gemini constellation, the meteors appear to originate from there, arriving predictably every year. - The Vibes, December 13, 2020
