THE Teluk Intan Fire and Rescue Services Department got an extraordinary emergency call last Saturday to help remove rings from a man’s fingers.

The man had earlier gone to the Teluk Intan Hospital for help as his rings had become too tight and had caused his fingers to swell and turn black.

There was pus on them due to lack of blood circulation.

In a Facebook post, the department said hospital personnel contacted them for help and they sent a team over.

The firemen successfully cut the rings off the victim’s fingers. Thereafter, he received medical treatment.

Based on shared pictures, the victim had his hands washed in a sodium chloride solution before receiving further treatment.
