ACTION should be taken against Tun Mahathir Mohamad for making divisive statements that are potentially harmful in this multiracial society, said former Klang MP, Charles Santiago.

This follows the former prime minister's statement in an interview with Vanakkam TV where he said the Indians and Chinese were not completely loyal to the country and they cannot claim ownership of Malaysia.

Santiago also attached a screen grab with his post on X.

"Indians and Chinese have contributed to the socioeconomic and political development of Malaysia.

"Dr Mahathir knows this is incitement. He is also encouraging bigotry and hate.

"But he does not care about the consequences of his actions. Is this because he is ashamed of his Indian ancestry?," asked Santiago.

The former MP asked if Dr Mahathir was just trying to stay relevant, especially in his twilight years.

"He must know we are fed up with his hate-filled rants. Malaysia does not belong to a select few but to all Malaysians.

"Dr Mahathir has undone whatever little good he did for this country," he added. - The Vibes, January 13, 2024
