A “GREEN dinosaur” was among those detained by police in Kuantan during an operation – Ops Samseng Jalan – yesterday.

The two-day operation was held from 11pm to 5.30am around Jalan Kuantan/Sg Isap Batu 3, Jalan Kuantan/Bypass/Bukit Rangin and Kuantan town.

During the operation, police inspected a total of 80 motorcycles, while one motorcyclist was detained for riding recklessly and performing a wheelie.

According to a statement on the Kuantan Traffic Police Facebook page, the motorcyclist was taken to the Kuantan Traffic Police Station for investigation under Section 42(1) of the 1987 Road Transport Act.

A total of 130 traffic summonses were also issued for other traffic offences while 32 motorcycles were seized.

The vehicles were seized under Section 64 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for illegal modifications to their exhaust pipes, no rearview mirrors, and non-compliant number plates.

The teen in the dinosaur costume was also among those inspected during the operation held in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations. – The Vibes, March 18, 2024
