A BOY was nearly knocked down by a car along Jalan Haji Mohamad Ali in Sitiawan, Perak yesterday after he was chased by a dog.

The boy narrowly missed being run over by a Proton Wira after the driver skillfully swerved the vehicle.

Social media users commended the driver’s swift reaction, acknowledging that the timely maneuver likely prevented a tragic outcome.

Concerns were also raised regarding the presence of stray dogs in the area, prompting calls for action from local authorities to address the problem.

It was reported that the Manjung Municipal Council has captured the dog which chased the boy.

Checks later revealed that the dog was not a stray as it was licensed by the Manjung Municipal Council.

It also found that the owner of the dog had failed to take reasonable steps to ensure that the animal did not cause trouble to neighbours or that it did not wander off its owner’s premises. – April 29, 2024.
