THE views of the nation's youth and their representative organisations will be given significant attention by the federal government in shaping future social policies.
Putrajaya is launching a nationwide roadshow to engage with youth groups and discuss the latest issues affecting them.
Youth and Sports Deputy Minister Adam Adli Abdul Halim said the administration is committed to amplifying the voices of young people in the development of future national policies.
"Their perspectives on current social, economic, and political issues are crucial. We aim to incorporate their input when making decisions and crafting future policies," he said following a recent "Jumpa Orang Muda" roadshow in Miri city, which was held to gather youth views on social issues in the area.
He encouraged young people and their organisations to speak openly about their views on current developments both in their states and across the country.
"They have the potential to directly influence the nation's future direction," he said.
Adam said his ministry is conducting the roadshow not only in cities and major towns but also in rural districts, recognising the value of input from youth in both urban and rural areas.
He said that through his numerous personal interactions with young people, he has encountered interesting and valuable ideas that could be integrated into national policies.
The roadshow in Sarawak is set to continue in the coming months. – August 12, 2024.
