INVESTIGATION papers on the brutal murder of teacher Istiqomah Ahmad Rozi, 33, will be submitted to the state prosecutor's office for further instructions, Alor Gajah police chief Ashari Abu Samah said.

A prosecution order is expected to be issued this afternoon or tomorrow, and the suspect is likely to be charged by Monday, he added.

“Malacca police chief Datuk Zainol Samah is expected to issue a press statement, and we will update on when the suspect will be charged in court,” he said today.

The torso of a woman was discovered on January 6 in a bin in Jalan Alor Gajah-Tampin, near Kampung Rimau, Pulau Sebang. The body was missing a head and all four limbs.

After about eight months, Ashari confirmed last Monday that the body had been identified as being that of Istiqomah Ahmad Rozi, a teacher who was reported missing on December 27.

Police have since arrested a married couple in their mid-30s in connection with the case. They pair were caught in Chemor, Perak. – August 15, 2024.
