POLICE are looking into a report by a 28-year-old woman claiming she was assaulted and threatened by an actress.

Gombak police chief Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the woman filed the report at the district police headquarters on Wednesday.

He said the woman is the personal assistant to the 32-year-old actress.

"The complainant was threatened and assaulted with a weapon by her employer and a 30-year-old relative," Noor Ariffin said in a statement.

"The incident occurred at the employer's office in Batu Caves."

Noor Ariffin said the personal assistant sought treatment at Selayang Hospital after sustaining injuries to her face and arm.

He said the incident is believed to have occured because the personal assistant has interfered in her employer's household affairs.

Noor Ariffin said the case was opened under Section 323 and Section 506 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.

Harian Metro reported yesterday that the personal assistant was accused of stealing jewellery belonging to the popular actress.

The report, citing sources, said the actress was detained when she was summoned to give her statement at the Gombak district police headquarters. – August 17, 2024.
