Loke: PAC chief has political agenda in MAHB probe
Loke, who is also the DAP Secretary-General, labelled the move by PAC chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin's as politically motivated - February 5, 2025

TRANSPORT Minister Anthony Loke has questioned the decision of the Public Accounts Committee to summon him over allegations of a RM500 million loss in Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) share transactions.

Loke, who is also the DAP Secretary-General, labelled the move by PAC chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin's as politically motivated, suggesting that it aimed to tarnish his image because he is a minister from DAP.

Loke also asked why the transport ministry was being linked to the issue, saying MAHB’s transactions had nothing to do with his ministry as it was a listed company.

"She (Mas Ermieyati) needs to understand MAHB's structure, as it seems she is confused.

"I don't know if she doesn't understand or deliberately refuses to understand that MAHB is a listed company and not under the Transport Ministry.

"I don’t know if there is a political agenda, but since the Transport Minister is from DAP, it’s easy to blame DAP for everything," he said.

It was earlier reported that Mas Ermieyati, who is also the Masjid Tanah MP did not rule out the possibility of summoning several key individuals, including Loke, regarding allegations of a RM500 million loss in MAHB share transactions involving the Employees Provident Fund.

The hearings are scheduled to start in the second week of February. – February 5, 2025
