Abang Johari was re-elected unopposed for another three-year term - February 11, 2025

SARAWAK Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Abang Openg was re-elected unopposed as the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) president for another three-year term.

PBB election committee chairman Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah said all 82 party branches in Sarawak unanimously endorsed Abang Johari's leadership.

Sarawak Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan will continue as the party's two deputy presidents, as their positions also went uncontested during PBB's 16th General Assembly.

Similarly, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom will continue to serve as senior vice-presidents.

All current officeholders in PBB Women's Wing will be retained, as there will be no contest for leadership positions in the wing.

The PBB Women's Wing will continue to be led by Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, with Datin Seri Angelina Ujang as Deputy Chief 1 and Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali as Deputy Chief 2.

Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri remains as Vice Chief 1, Umang Nangku Jabu as Vice Chief 2 and Datuk Rubiah Wang as Vice Chief 3.

However, the vice-president posts for the Bumiputera Wing will be contested.

This comes after the entry of two new challengers.

Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Hamzah, Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi and Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee will face competition from Datuk len Talif Salleh and Datuk Ibrahim Baki. - February 11, 2025
