A THINK-thank known as Polity was officially launched as an organisation that brings together policy development agendas and community interventions to empower the socio-economic status of the people.
The launch was held during the Social Economic Research Initiatives (SERI) dinner in Kuala Lumpur.
Polity's executive chairman, Nurul Izzah Anwar, emphasised that Polity is committed to conducting evidence-based research, advocating for inclusive policies, and implementing grassroots advocacy efforts.
“It also focuses on intervention programmes that drive meaningful change by prioritising the empowerment of women, youth, and vulnerable communities in Malaysia,” she said.
The four main pillars that Polity focuses on include socio-economic issues, access and equity in health, social justice, as well as technology, skills, and digital inclusion.
For this year, Polity has outlined various key programmes, including the women's leadership training programme: Women Worldwide, the ASEAN Women Leadership Conference: Women, Peace and Security, and the Youth Policython.
Izzah said Polity's mission is not only focused on Malaysia but also extends beyond borders to the Southeast Asian and global levels.
To ensure that each of these core areas is driven with the right expertise, Polity is supported by a line-up of advisors and experts in their respective fields.
These include Dr. Amjad Rabi (Social Security Expert), Shobah Veera (Consumer Protection), and Ts. Dr. Lee Hing Wah (Technology Skills Enhancement).
Izzah also officially announced her transition from SERI and will now focus her full attention on the joint agenda with Polity.
This step marks her commitment to leading broader and high-impact policy initiatives, in line with Polity’s missions. – February 18, 2025
