PAKATAN Harapan (PH) has set its targets on securing between 21 and 22 of the 36 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats in the Negeri Sembilan state election tomorrow.
Its election director, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, said the target could be achieved based on the wisdom of voters in assessing PH's performance since 2018, as well as the administration record of Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, who led the state for two terms.
“We are trying our best to get a minimum of 19 seats, and if all goes well, we may be able to get between 21 and 22 seats. That is our best expectation.
“However, we believe in the wisdom of the voters and will continue to campaign consistently to ensure that the mandate to form a state government can be maintained,” he said.
“This time, the challenge has changed a little because the election landscape and political coalitions are also different.
“We are aware of the challenge and are still trying to get a comfortable number of seats to form a government,” he said.
Commenting on the claim that the 'blue wave' from Johor would also hit Negeri Sembilan, Amirudin said that it was just a narrative that Barisan Nasional (BN) was trying to bring.
"We see the dynamics this time as something new and will continue to highlight solutions, as opposed to rhetoric that divides society along racial lines," he said.
Meanwhile, PKR deputy president, Nurul Izzah Anwar, told reporters in Kuala Pilah that Tok Min (Aminuddin) should be given the chance to continue implementing his development agenda for Negeri Sembilan.
"I urge voters to come out and exercise their rights and continue to support Pakatan Harapan.
"The future of the state rests on you, and I appeal to you to make the right choice," she added. - July 31, 2026
