TUN Dr Mahathir Mohamad left a tahlil ceremony for his late wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, before it began today after complaining of feeling unwell.
His departure from the Perdana Leadership Foundation took guests by surprise, with many having gathered for the ceremony in memory of Siti Hasmah.
Dr Mahathir was seen surrounded by guests as he prepared to leave the venue.
He appeared to be in pain but continued waving to those around him before heading home.
The ceremony proceeded as scheduled, with his son, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, attending on his behalf.
The programme began with the recitation of Surah Yasin, followed by tahlil and prayers for the late Siti Hasmah. - October 28, 2026
