THE Negeri Sembilan Education Department (JPNS) is finalising an investigation into allegations that students from a local school were involved in serving alcoholic beverages during an alumni association dinner held on September 5.

In a statement today, the JPNS emphasised that school students should not be involved in activities that entail handling or serving alcoholic beverages.

Based on preliminary information, the event was organised by the alumni association and took place off school grounds, and both the school and the association have denied the allegations regarding the students' involvement in the serving of alcohol.

JPNS stated that the investigation into complaints received via the Public Complaints Management System (SISPAA) also includes an examination of whether the school adhered to established procedures.

"Should there be any violation of regulations or negligence in the discharge of duties, appropriate action will be taken in accordance with the prevailing regulations," the statement read.

JPNS emphasised that the welfare, safety, and dignity of students remain a top priority, and it will ensure that the findings of the investigation are thoroughly reviewed before any follow-up action is taken. – October 24, 2026
