DATUK Seri Ismail Sabri arrived at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters in Putrajaya at 8.45am today for his second day of questioning.
Yesterday, the former prime minister spent about six hours providing his statement to MACC as part of an ongoing investigation.
He later said he would give his full cooperation to ensure a smooth investigation.
The former leader, who served as Malaysia's premier from 2020 to 2022, did not provide any additional information about the purpose or nature of the investigation during his departure.
He was seen smiling and waving to the waiting media outside the building, who had gathered since 8am to capture the moment.
On March 1, he was questioned for five hours at the MACC headquarters regarding hundreds of millions of ringgit spent on promotional and publicity expenditures during his administration from 2021 to 2022.
To date, the MACC has seized some RM170 million in cash, held in various international currencies, as well as 16kg of gold bullion worth around RM7 million. These seizures are part of an investigation into alleged corruption and money laundering linked to Ismail Sabri, who has been named a suspect in the probe.
MACC has also frozen 13 bank accounts containing over RM2 million as part of its investigation into Ismail Sabri. – March 14, 2025
