THE Kuala Lumpur Tower will be closed temporarily starting today, April 17, to ensure visitor safety and comfort, while the new management undertakes maintenance and improvements.

The Ministry of Communications announced that the reopening date for the tower, one of the tallest telecommunications structures globally, will be shared through various media outlets.

The statement highlighted that the Kuala Lumpur Tower is owned by the government, and as of April 1, 2025, LSH Service Master Sdn Bhd (LSHSM) will take over its operations, management, and maintenance.

It was noted that Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd (MKLSB) is not authorised to remain on the KL Tower premises after March 31, 2025.

Consequently, the Federal Lands Commissioner has issued two eviction notices to MKLSB, dated April 3 and April 9, 2025.

As a result, any ongoing operations or transactions by MKLSB lack government approval.

On March 31, the Ministry of Communications addressed concerns in a FAQ regarding the KL Tower management transition, assuring that the change in concession would not disrupt operations or affect staff.

The ministry confirmed that discussions with the new concessionaire, LSHSM, included terms to ensure smooth operations continue. – April 17, 2025
