The remand order, which runs until May 13, was issued by Ayer Keroh Sessions Court Judge Haderiah Siri on Tuesday. The couple, both 22 and unemployed, were arrested in front of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Melaka Hospital around 6.30 pm on Monday.

The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
