High-powered BMW motorcycle ‘pushed away’ by thieves

POLICE have confirmed receiving a report following a viral video of two men allegedly stealing a high-powered motorcycle on Thursday.

Kajang District Police Chief, Naazron Abdul Yusof said the incident occurred at the Taming Sari apartment in Desa Baiduri, Cheras around 5.45 pm.

“CCTV footage at the security post found that the victim's motorcycle was taken out by two men with one of the suspects riding a Yamaha motorcycle pushing the BMW R1300GS motorcycle out of the victim’s apartment building.

"Checks found that the suspect's motorcycle registration number was fake and the original owner had filed a police report and confirmed that his motorcycle was in his possession in Terengganu," he said in a statement today.

Naazron said the case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code.

Conviction is punishable by imprisonment of not less than a year and not more than seven years, in addition to a fine.
