MTUC to hold Special Delegates Conference in August

THE Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) will be holding its Special Delegates Conference (SDC) on August 2 and 3 in Shah Alam.

In a statement today, it said MTUC is currently administered by the Joint Special Committee (JSC), formed pursuant to a Consent Order of the Court agreed upon by both the plaintiff and defendant in a dispute which invalidated the elected office bearers.

The JSC has been tasked with overseeing the administration of MTUC, to prepare and conduct the SDC.

JSC chairman, J. Solomon said all affiliates have been requested to submit their delegate lists, motions, and nominations for the election of principal officials by  June 12, 2025.

"Notices have been sent by mail and are now also being publicised via the press to ensure wide and timely dissemination.

"We call on all stakeholders to extend their support to the JSC as it carries out its responsibilities up to August 3, 2025.

"Affiliates are welcome to contact JSC members, MTUC staff, or IR practitioners should they require any assistance during this period," he added. - May 26, 2025
