THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has recorded a statement from an individual bearing the honorific title Tan Sri as part of its investigation into the alleged misappropriation of sukuk funds designated for the construction of a highway in the Klang Valley.

According to sources familiar with the matter, two MACC investigators visited the Tan Sri’s residence in the capital this morning to conduct the interview.

In a separate development, MACC officers also raided the individual’s home in Melaka. However, no items were seized during that operation.

It was previously reported that MACC intended to question the Tan Sri following his discharge from hospital.

The investigation centres around a highway concessionaire, with earlier reports stating that MACC had seized various high-value assets worth an estimated RM32 million.

These included luxury handbags, jewellery, watches, cars, cash, and a luxury residence believed to be linked to the individual under scrutiny.

The case remains under active investigation. - June 11, 2025
