Government will continue to monitor market developments and adjust RON97 and diesel’s retail prices based on global oil market fluctuations - June 18, 2025

THE retail prices of RON97 petrol and diesel in Peninsular Malaysia have been increased by 7 sen per litre for the period of 19 to 25 June 2025, in response to the recent surge in global oil prices, the Ministry of Finance announced today.

Effective from 19 June, RON97 is priced at RM3.14 per litre, up from RM3.07, while diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will retail at RM2.81 per litre, up from RM2.74.

“The retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia remains lower than the RM3.35 per litre rate set when it was first floated on 10 June 2024,” the Ministry said in a statement.

Prices of RON95 petrol and diesel in East Malaysia (Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan) remain unchanged at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre respectively.

The statement added: “The Government will continue to monitor market developments and adjust RON97 and diesel’s retail prices based on global oil market fluctuations, whilst supporting price stability.”

Fuel prices are reviewed weekly under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM), which ensures retail adjustments reflect international market conditions.

The Ministry reiterated that it remains committed to ensuring the welfare and well-being of the public are safeguarded amid volatile energy markets. - June 18, 2025
