POLICE believe two separate shooting incidents in Brickfields and Cheras, both reported within a four-day span, are not linked.
Cheras District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan confirmed that, based on current findings, there is no evidence connecting the two cases.
“So far, the case (shooting) in Cheras has no relation to the one in Brickfields,” he stated.
He added that no arrests have been made in connection with the Cheras shooting incident at this stage of the investigation.

Initial investigations suggest that two recent shooting incidents in Brickfields and Cheras, reported within four days of each other, are not connected, according to Cheras police.

According to Harian Metro, Cheras District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan confirmed on Tuesday that: “The suspects (in the Cheras shooting) have not yet been identified.”
Media reports on Monday stated that police are still pursuing a group of masked individuals believed to be responsible for the attack.
Aidil also revealed that statements from 19 individuals have been recorded to assist the investigation.
Earlier reports indicated that preliminary police investigations into the two recent shootings in Brickfields and Cheras—both occurring within a span of four days—suggest elements of gang involvement in both cases.- June 25, 2025
