COMMUNICATIONS Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil today officiated the National Aspirations with Youth (NANBA) Programme, a strategic initiative organised by the Department of Community Communications (J-KOM), held at IWK Eco Park @ Pantai Dalam.

Inspired by the Tamil word nanba, meaning “friend”, the programme reflects the MADANI government’s commitment to fostering closer ties with the Indian community—especially its youth—while ensuring the inclusive and effective dissemination of government policies and initiatives.

“NANBA also serves as an effective two-way communication platform to enhance public access to information on government policies, initiatives, and opportunities,” said Fahmi.

He added that the initiative forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to deliver services and key information directly to the people.

Activities held throughout the day included service counters from government agencies, the RAHMAH MADANI sales campaign, a colouring competition, treasure hunt, and family-friendly entertainment in collaboration with McDonald’s.

J-KOM expressed hope that NANBA will continue to inspire unity, boost media literacy among the Indian community, and support national aspirations for a progressive, inclusive, and harmonious society. - June 28, 2025
