THE situation at the Sepang Magistrate's Court grew tense for a moment when a man believed to be a family member of a university student who was murdered on June 24 tried to approach the suspect.
The tall man, wearing a red shirt, tried to approach the suspect as he left court after completing his remand extension application this morning.
The main suspect, a local man and two female suspects, were seen leaving the court at around 9.50am before the individual walked towards them while shouting, reported Berita Harian.
"Wow!, you killed my sister, use your brains a little, I have a sister, you (you) killed her," he shouted from a distance.
Police at the scene acted swiftly to calm him down, diffusing the situation and preventing any untoward incidents.
Meanwhile, the lawyer representing the main suspect, M Manoharan, questioned the police's action in issuing a statement claiming that his client 'had bad intentions'.
He said that the investigation process was still ongoing and the police should not have issued such a statement because in law a person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
"We have raised an objection to the Magistrate regarding the action of the Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, who issued a statement and pieces of evidence that could affect my client's case.
"This is a very serious matter, the police's job is to investigate, and we have wise, learned and competent judges to determine who is guilty and who is not," he said. - July 3, 2025
