A DIRECTOR of a federal agency based in Kelantan is expected to be charged in court soon over multiple corruption and abuse of power offences, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed on Thursday.

MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the official, who is due to retire shortly, is suspected of offences involving false claims, power abuse, and soliciting and receiving bribes.

"The suspect is a director who is expected to retire soon. Investigations have been completed, and the individual will be brought to court in the near future," he said at a press conference.

Azam had earlier attended the retirement ceremony of outgoing Kelantan MACC Director Rosli Husain, who formally handed over duties to his successor, Azmin Yusuff. - July 3, 2025
