Announcement resolves to balance economic sustainability with social justice, Minister says - July 23, 2025

COMMUNICATIONS Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has extended his "deepest appreciation and thanks" to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim following the announcement of immediate cost-of-living relief measures under the MADANI government, describing them as both timely and reassuring for the public.

“This announcement proves the MADANI government’s attentiveness to the heartbeat of the people, as well as its commitment to easing burdens through various forms of assistance,” said Fahmi.

He added that while efforts to improve Malaysia’s fiscal health will continue, they will not come at the expense of public well-being. “The MADANI government will continue striving to balance the need to strengthen the country’s financial position with the responsibility to safeguard the welfare of the people.”

Fahmi said the measures were carefully considered and rooted in the principles of social justice and economic sustainability.

“The approach announced will further stimulate economic growth, provide relief to the people, and reinforce the country’s fiscal resilience amid global uncertainties,” he stated.

As Chairman of the National Day and Malaysia Day 2025 Main Committee, Fahmi also issued a call for national unity and celebration. “I urge all Malaysians to rekindle their patriotic spirit. Now is the time for us to unite in heart and soul, to appreciate the blessings of independence, and to contribute collectively to the nation’s prosperity.”

He affirmed that the government would continue strengthening its development agenda through the upcoming 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13) and the Malaysia MADANI Budget, which is currently being drafted.

“These efforts are for the benefit of the people as a whole,” said Fahmi. - July 23, 2025
