A SPA operating in a shopping centre along Jalan Loke Yew was raided early Tuesday morning on suspicion of offering sexual services and employing foreign nationals as guest relation officers (GROs).
The operation, codenamed Op Noda/Dadu, was conducted around 3.15am by the Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division (D7) from Bukit Aman, with support from D7 personnel at the Cheras District Police Headquarters (IPD), following intelligence and surveillance.
Acting Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad, said 54 individuals aged between 19 and 54 were detained during the raid, including nine Malaysians and 45 foreigners.
“The arrests comprised 33 women and 21 men, consisting of nine locals, 26 Chinese nationals, 16 from Myanmar and three Bangladeshi citizens,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the foreign women were allegedly offering sexual services for RM1,700 per session, in addition to working as GROs.
Among the items seized were business receipts, promotional flyers for massage services, fingerprint scanners, mobile phones, lubricants, condoms and cash.
“The raid also uncovered equipment believed to be used for illegal gambling, including a poker table, playing cards, dice and hundreds of coloured casino chips in green, black, red and yellow,” he added.
The spa is believed to have only begun operating earlier this month, with clients arriving on a walk-in basis for massage or sexual services.
“All those arrested have been taken to the Cheras Police Station for further action,” said Mohamed Usuf.
The case is being investigated under Section 372 of the Penal Code (relating to prostitution), the Immigration Act 1959/63, and Section 7(2) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953. - July 23, 2025
