A 24-YEAR-OLD man will remain in custody for a further seven days to assist police investigations into the murder of a woman who was seven months pregnant, in a case dating back to 2021.

The remand extension was granted by Magistrate Syed Farid Syed Ali at the Pasir Mas Magistrates’ Court today under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which pertains to murder.

The suspect, dressed in a purple detainee's uniform, arrived at court under police escort at approximately 8.42am.

The victim, 26-year-old Farrah Emirah Mazlan, was discovered with gunshot wounds to the abdomen in her Nissan Cefiro at Kampung Teresek, Repek. The incident took place around 4pm and is believed to have involved the use of a firearm.

Farrah, a mother of three children aged between three and ten, was pronounced dead at the scene.

After nearly three years of investigation, authorities arrested the suspect on 23 July. Police are continuing their inquiries into the motive and circumstances surrounding the killing. - July 30, 2025
