THE motorcycle ridden by two individuals suspected of attacking the son of former Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli at a shopping mall in Putrajaya yesterday was found to have a fake registration number.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said they are tracking down two individuals on the motorcycle believed to be involved in the incident.

"We have identified the motorcycle involved but an inspection found that the registration number used was fake.

"The suspects have not been identified yet," he said.

He said police were also yet to identify the liquid allegedly used in the syringe during the incident.

Yesterday, police confirmed that Rafizi's son was attacked at a shopping mall in Putrajaya at 2pm.

The Pandan MP's 12-year-old son was reported to have suffered no physical injuries.

Shazeli reportedly said that the attack took place at the drop-off and pick-up area of the shopping mall.

Rafizi yesterday said that his son and wife had just entered the car to leave the mall before his son was suddenly pulled and stabbed with a syringe.

Initial checks found that two men on a motorcycle were following his wife's car, with both suspects dressed in black and wearing full-face helmets. - August 14, 2025
