THREE young boys from Kampung Pasir Tengah, Rantau, have been widely praised for their honest act in returning a lost mobile phone belonging to a child, after finding it on the roadside last Thursday evening.
The incident, which occurred around 6pm, saw the child and his mother out for a walk when the phone was inadvertently dropped. According to the child’s father, Saravana Naidu, panic set in after his son realised the phone was missing around 7pm.
“We searched the whole village and kept calling the number repeatedly, but no one answered. At about 7.40pm, I tried again — and this time, someone picked up,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
It turned out the phone had switched off upon falling, but three local boys, identified as Danish, Faiq and Zaquan, had taken the initiative to charge the device in order to contact its owner.
“What moved us even more was that they asked for our home address and came directly to return the phone themselves,” Saravana shared.
“Though they are still young, their sincerity and honesty were clear. I deeply appreciate what they did and thank their parents for raising them so well.
“May God bless them with good health and continued kindness,” he added.
The boys' actions have since gone viral on social media, with netizens commending their integrity and setting them as an example for youth across the country. - September 13, 2025
