THE Malaysia Cultural Festival 2025 has been described by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as a vivid symbol of national unity and strength, rooted in the country’s rich cultural diversity and communal harmony.
In a Facebook post following the gala night held at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, Anwar wrote, “This dazzling evening of cultural splendour reveals the heartbeat of our nation, uniting our diversity on a single mesmerising stage.”
He noted that the festival did more than merely showcase the richness of Malaysia’s cultural heritage — it embodied the spirit of harmony and mutual respect that binds the nation together.
“Approaching Malaysia Day, this festival reflects a strength that is not merely anchored in rapid economic growth, but deeply rooted in our cultural richness that unites our people and ignites a spirit of kinship,” he said.
Anwar also underscored the importance of culture in shaping the nation’s identity under the MADANI vision.
“In the MADANI framework, human development must grow in tandem with cultural awareness. The heritage of our many ethnic communities should not only be celebrated, but honoured as a source of inspiration and collective strength,” he said.
He added that Malaysia’s artistic and cultural legacy finds greater meaning when Malay traditions flourish harmoniously alongside the heritage of the Chinese, Indian, Iban, Kadazan, Bajau and others — describing this coexistence as a vital guarantee of peace and continuity.
“Our arts and culture take on deeper meaning when the Malay heritage flourishes in harmony alongside the traditions of the Chinese, Indian, Iban, Kadazan, Bajau and others,” he said. “This rich variety guarantees the nation’s harmony and longevity.”
Reflecting on the evening’s performances, Anwar expressed his admiration for the artistic collaboration across communities, saying it captivated both local audiences and international guests.
“I was truly captivated by the performances that celebrated our cultural richness — not only impressing Malaysians, but also earning admiration from our friends around the world,” he wrote.
He extended his gratitude to all those involved in organising the event, expressing hope that the festival would continue to strengthen the bonds of unity, promote friendship, and showcase Malaysia as a culturally rich, peaceful and prosperous nation. - September 14, 2025
