THIRTY-TWO individuals have had their statements recorded as part of the ongoing investigation into the suspected murder of a woman who was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the living room of her home in USJ 2/1, Subang Jaya, on 14 August.

Subang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, confirmed that investigations into the death of the woman, believed to be in her 20s, are still in progress.

"There have been no arrests at this stage. The investigation is ongoing, and so far, statements from 32 witnesses have been recorded," he said in a brief statement today.

Earlier, news reports highlighted that a post-mortem conducted by a pathologist at Serdang Hospital revealed the cause of death to be haemorrhaging around the hyoid bone in the neck.

According to the report, the pathologist also found injuries to the victim’s muscles and bones consistent with "manual strangulation", indicating foul play and dismissing initial suspicions of suicide.

Police have not ruled out further developments as forensic analysis and witness testimonies continue to shape the course of the investigation. - September 15, 2025
