AN arrest warrant has been issued for Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan, who is also the son-in-law of former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said this when asked to comment on news reports claiming that Muhammad Adlan was living a luxurious life in the Middle East.
According to him, several related actions have been implemented to bring the individual back home, but this requires the cooperation of the authorities of the country concerned.
“Everyone is aware that he is abroad, we have issued an arrest warrant, and there are other actions that we are implementing.
“It requires assistance from the relevant countries and God willing, we will try our best,” he told a press conference at the rehearsal of the 47th ASEAN Summit at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, today.
Mohd Khalid said so far, PDRM has not received a response from the International Police (Interpol) regarding the matter.
Earlier, it was reported that the businessman is believed to be living a luxurious life in the Middle East.
Adlan is reportedly wanted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to face charges of criminal breach of trust.
On October 16, the Attorney-General, Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar, said that the investigation into Adlan has been completed and an order for prosecution has been issued.
MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations), Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya, reportedly said that MACC will fully support the AGC's decision to proceed with charges against Adlan and Mansoor in absentia. - October 23, 2025
