THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has opened seven investigation papers regarding allegations of embezzlement, abuse of power and corruption involving FELDA and its subsidiary, FELDA Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd (FIC).
Its Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said the large-scale special investigation, named OPS FELLA, focuses on investment transactions and asset acquisitions by the management of FELDA and FIC over 10 years, between 2010 and 2020.
Of the total, six new investigation papers were opened on August 24, while another is an old investigation paper that is still active and undergoing the Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) process.
"The six new investigation papers opened involve the issue of purchasing and investing in assets at prices that exceed the actual valuation, which is believed to have caused losses suffered by FELDA as a whole," he told a press conference today.
According to Abd Halim, the investigation papers cover the investment issues of Syarikat Tataran Aras Sdn Bhd based in Limbang, Sarawak; the acquisition of Grand Borneo Hotel Sdn Bhd in Sabah and the purchase of Grand Plaza Service Apartments in London.
“The investigation also focuses on the establishment of Felda Wellness Corporation Sdn Bhd, the acquisition of Felda House and Grand Felda House as well as alleged irregularities in the development of the Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC) Project.
“An old investigation paper that has not yet been closed and is currently in the MLA process involving the Park City Grand Plaza property is also being re-examined in parallel, making the entire case under review operate under seven investigation papers,” he said.
Additionally, MACC has summoned a total of 12 individuals to assist in the investigation and record statements.
“They consist of three FIC Board of Directors members, an FIC secretary, two FIC Legal Division individuals, a valuer, three individuals from a law firm, an officer from the Kuala Lumpur Land and Mines Office (PTG) and an officer from the Kuala Lumpur Valuation and Property Services Department.
“Several arrests are expected to be made in the near future in stages. It cannot be denied that there will be several arrests made in the near future, and they are expected to start as early as next week.
“The total value of corruption is still in the process of being identified since the investigation is still at an early stage,” he said.
Meanwhile, Abd Halim said that MACC also received information regarding the quality of oil palm seedlings as well as the implementation of the replanting program in Felda Palong 7, Negeri Sembilan, which involves approximately 450 settlers.
“The follow-up report was made in line with the decision of Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who wants every weakness and leakage in FELDA management to be fully addressed.
“The FELDA management is also right to appoint its own forensic audit firm. FELDA has the allocation and authority, so it is good for them to appoint their own forensic audit to assist us in conducting the investigation,” he said. – September 2, 2026
