Schools in Group A will enjoy only one additional day off on March 19 (Thursday). - October 28, 2025

STUDENTS can look forward to longer festive holidays next year.

The Ministry of Education (MOE) in its 2026 academic calendar has announced an additional three day holiday for Chinese New Year.

CNY is expected to fall on Feb 17 (Tuesday) and 18 (Wednesday), while MOE had announced Feb 16 (Monday); 19 (Thursday) and 20 (Friday) as additional holidays.

For schools in Group A (Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu), the three additional holidays will fall on Feb 15 (Sunday), Feb 16 (Monday) and Feb 19 (Thursday).

Apart from the additional days for CNY, there are also extra holidays announced by MOE for Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Deepavali.

Hari Raya is expected on March 21 (Saturday) and March 22 (Sunday), while two additional days given by MOE are March 19 (Thursday) and March 20 (Friday).

Schools in Group A will enjoy only one additional day off on March 19 (Thursday).

Deepavali is expected on Nov 8 (Sunday) which will be replaced on Nov 9 (Monday). MOE has granted another day - Nov 10 (Tuesday) as an additional holiday. - October 28, 2025
