AN accountant lost more than RM900,000 after he is believed to have fallen victim to a non-existent stock investment scam.

Kulai District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Tan Seng Lee said the 55-year-old woman lodged a police report yesterday after claiming to have lost RM916,700.

“The complainant was interested in making an investment that promised a profit of 30 to 40 percent within 24 hours, and the suspect told her the profit would be deposited into the complainant’s RGFO Maxx application account.

“Attracted by the promised profit, the complainant made 35 transactions totaling RM916,700 into four local bank accounts starting from October 2 to November 11.

“The complainant also checked her RGFO Maxx account and found that the profit earned was RM5,435,748,” he said in a media statement today.

He said that when the complainant tried to withdraw money from his RGFO Maxx account, she found that the account had been blocked and suspected that she had been scammed.

He said that the case was being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code because investment fraud did not exist. – December 6, 2025
